Family Sponsorship
In Canada, sponsorship is typically open to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. These sponsors can usually sponsor the following family members:
- Spouse or common-law partner.
- Conjugal partner.
- Dependent children, including adopted children.
- Parents and grandparents.
- Other eligible relatives in specific circumstances.
Sponsors must meet certain eligibility criteria and demonstrate their ability to financially support the sponsored family member(s) as part of the sponsorship process.
